My buddy Evan (Two Bibliomaniacs) gave me a blog nod this morning, so I should probably put up a new post to take advantage of all of the extra traffic I'll receive as a result.
Today something wholly miraculous happened. I got a pizza in the mail. Let me explain.
On Monday, completely out of nowhere, I was attacked by a deep longing for a deep dish pizza. I sent out a wailing moan on Facebook and my new pal Judd (Trials of a Phat Athlete) came to the rescue. He was in the region of the great state of Chicago and saw an opportunity to make a little boy's dreams come true.
I didn't even know they sent pizza by mail. My entire outlook on life has changed completely.
So I started wondering... How often have I dropped the ball in similar situations? How many times have I had the unique opportunity to do something totally selfless to make someone feel incredibly special and then watched said opportunity fly by? Probably a lot of times. I'm pretty thick-headed.
So, go friends and friends of friends. Find a way to make someone feel grand.
