Action movies always make me want to work out.

I'm trying to get in shape before beach season starts (and here in Indiana, beach season starts whenever you feel like inflating the pool) so today, with the big t.v. inside and the kids out of the way, I decided to use the Wii to my full advantage. I started by bowling a little...

Hang on a second. I have to interrupt myself. I just heard my wife call Reese's Pieces, "Ree-see's Pee-cees." Really? She's lived in America for thirty-one years and no one has ever bothered to correct her? I'm a little shocked.

Okay, back to business...

... then I upped the ante and spent about an hour boxing. I'm so sore I might decide to die in my sleep. We'll see how the rest of the night goes.

This was all brought on because, with the big t.v. in the living room and the two older, impressionable, English-speaking, and obscenity-repeating kids at their grandma's, I busted out the loud and violent action movies, most potently, Kill Bill, a movie that I truly love from beginning to end. Watching Kill Bill always makes me want to work out because I think, "If Uma Thurman busts in here with a samurai sword, I don't want to be the first guy she cuts in half." So I usually end up hurting myself. Like I did today.

Thank you,
Matt Beers
