Monday is music day in our daycare. We get out instruments and brightly-colored silk scarves and we dance like a bunch of crazy people. And sometimes the kids get into it, too.
Dan Zanes is a favorite around our house. The old folk songs and railroad tunes and sea ballads and gospels really get lodged in your throat and you can't help but sing along. Also, I've gotten the kids a little bit hooked on the B-52s. How can you NOT love Rock Lobster?
Anyway, this day looks like it might shape up to be not-so-bad, even though we've already had to throw away one toothbrush, had one girl crying because she didn't want to eat breakfast, one little boy pinched his thumb and wasn't too happy about it, one girl had trouble sharing and another little girl had trouble not pushing her down for it, and one Matt who was very prepared to be an insufferable grump today.
