It's Saturday morning, as the title of this post implies, and Betsy is out shopping and the kids are here with me, playing. Macy is pretending to be a dog while occasionally attacking her brother, Zoe is sitting in her little bouncy play-tray thingy, and Jack is alternately squishing Zoe's cheeks together and pouting because I asked him to clean up a mess he made in the other room. What ever happened to Saturday morning cartoons?
The plan for today, MY plan, anyway, is to start putting together a Harry Potter birthday party for Jack, who turns six next month. I think Betsy and I are more excited about it than Jack is. He wanted a Bakugan party, but we talked him out of it because we don't like going to the party store and buying all of the factory-made plates and cups and favors and stuff. Homemade party decorations and favors are so much more interesting and fun.
I'm going to try my hand at wand-making and I'm sure at some point I'll be making either a dragon, a very large spider, or a three-headed dog. Wish me luck.
