I'm in a pretty uncomfortable place right now. I want to expand my world-awareness, but I don't really know anything about my OWN country. And Europeans think Americans are ignorant. How did THAT rumor get started?
I know how we're perceived by other nations, as fat, lazy, and greedy, and although I wouldn't consider myself greedy, the other two kinda sting. I'm workin' on the fat, but being lazy makes it not so much with the working. And when I look around at all of the stuff in my house, I can't really offer up a good argument against the greedy.
I'm thinking of getting rid of a lot of my stuff. This is a delicate operation because you don't want people thinking you're all suicidey. You have to make it look like you're making room for some new and better stuff. So I think I'm gonna go super-garage-sale-crazy and sell a bunch of stuff at rock-bottom, bargain-basement prices... and then spend the money on some wicked-cool electronics. No. Not that, but something nice. Maybe a laser.
I need to make some lists. I'm not sure what those lists will be, but the stuff on one of the lists will get sold, the stuff on one list will get boxed up and shoved into the attic, and the stuff on one list will pretty much stay wherever it is.
So, come over and buy my stuff... at some date thus-far undetermined, suffice it to say that it won't be this week... or next week. Or any time in the next month. May looks good, though. We'll shoot for May.
